Relays

Track started February 1st, 2024, and since then, Sienna Baker (10) has worked very hard for her relay teams. Baker runs the 4×1 and the 4×2.

“I love relays the most because of the concept,” Baker said.

In the beginning of the track season the 4×1 and 4×2 were running very well, always placing high in their heats. Baker takes track very seriously, not only is it a fun hobby she enjoys, but a soothing
break from reality.

“Whenever I get the baton in my hands, I feel free of all my nerves and can’t think of anything but giving the stick to the 4th leg,” Baker said.

Running track comes with awards. Ribbons, medals and even plaques, but more importantly, friendships.

“I love practicing relays because of the bonds I’ve created with my teammates,” Baker said. “We’ve got enough chemistry to run and handoff in any position,
together.”

The thrill and suspense of each race brings joy and excitement throughout the team.

“4×1 is the most fun to watch and very exciting to run,” Baker said. “It is the fastest paced relaywhich makes handoffs just a little more important to win.”
