As the final Steele High School yearbook deadline approaches, students on the Yearbook team are feeling the pressure. With the end of the school year in sight, the task of compiling memories, photos, and stories into a cohesive and polished yearbook has become a race against time.
Peyton Gonzalez, the editor and yearbook one rep, shares, “I try to go home and find ways to calm me down, and I really just eat yummy food which makes me feel better. I also try to work on my spread at home so I’m not bombarded with work when I get into class.” The yearbook members, who are also juggling homework and extracurricular activities, have been putting in lots of work after school to meet the deadline.
Despite the stress, the team remains motivated. “Deadline season can be stressful because there is so much to do all at once, but I try to just stay grounded and remember that I can do this because I have done it before and I am not in it alone,” Olivia Thuringer said. As the deadline approaches, the yearbook team’s hard work and dedication are set to pay off, ensuring that this year’s yearbook will be a treasured memento for all.
