Softball requires getting along with your teammates and those around you. Steele Softball has had its ups and downs this season but is slowly making their comeback and might even have a chance at making playoffs. Spending so much time with a team can really make everyone on the team close to one another. Eventually you start to form a relationship with who you play with and they become like a second family.
Being able to keep everyone upbeat and ready to play is such an important part of the game. It helps everyone stay in a good mood and makes the team try hard the entire game.
“What I love about my team is when we’re down like 8-0, everybody will always be hyped and energized so getting back to 8-8 is not hard because everybody is energized and not just you,” Penelope Sanders said.
Being able to come back from a bad score is so important to not only you but the whole team. Having a team you can be comfortable with and not have to act differently around can really make or break someone’s want to play. The softball team at Steele feels like family and everyone keeps each other in check but also helps each other when needed.
“I like who I play with because they’re nice and they make the team feel like a family,” Sierra Villereal said.
Playing with trust in everyone can really make playing with each other so much easier. You never feel alone or left out when playing because at least one person on the team is there for you when you need it. The team you have, and the bonds you have with each other, really make playing such a phenomenal experience. The coaches push varsity to their greatest potential to be able to make the playoffs. Varsity softball is making their way to the playoffs if they win this Friday against the Judson rockets.
