Running track is loved by many. Since the very first event in the late 1800’s, many track runners have found it to be a form of comfort.
“I like doing track because I can run at my own pace and don’t have to worry about someone messing up,” Peyton Jarzombek (9) said. “It brings a type of comfort nothing else could make me feel. I just have to worry about myself and what I set my mind to.”
On April 4th, 2024, Jarzombek, who was one of the youngest there, and Deven Langston (11) both qualified for Area. Jarzombek qualified in the 1600 meter race.
“I feel pretty good qualifying considering I’m a freshman because that just shows I have three more years to go even further,” Jarzombek said.
Langston showed great skill and ambition to qualify in the 100 meter.
“It felt good making it to area, and I hope to continue to state,” Langston said.
